Well, if you thought this was going to be totally a "no brainer" then think again. As with ALL market TOOLS there is much to be done to learn HOW and WHEN to use such tools and how to set parameters associated with such tools. In the SwingTimer Indicator the most important parameter is the parameter used to specify the NUMBER OF BARS which are to be used in evaluating at which point in time the TURNINGPOINTS occur. In the prior chart this parameter was set to 13. It is apparent that if we were looking for SHORT term changes in direction of the market then the prior chart tended to show not enough turns and consequently did not give an optimum projection for a short term. NOW change the NUMBER OF BARS parameter to 8 -- Well ? ? ? ?
The secret of the method is to learn how to use the method to arrive at a set of parameters which will give us the best projections over the longest sustained period of time. First we must learn what are the parameters associated are associated with this method and then examine examples of changes of parameters. We will learn to use MULTIPLE time periods concurrently.
