The proper use of the Groups parameter is most important (however, it is likely that you will find that the default value of 5 works most if not all the time) As noted in the prior discussion, the integer portion of the parameter specifies the number of groups of data that we wish to create and the fractional portion specifies which of those groups we wish the indicator to use to form the outside limits of the BOX which is the target of the next possible turn in the market. The fine red lines in the picture below represent ALL the swings which were encountered in this dataset following the detection of a set of turning points which define a nine (9) pattern. Recall that TWO sets of summations are performed. One for time and one for price. In this case we are using the default group value of 5. (Implied in that specification is that we are doing a 5.24 summation analysis and will be using the second and fourth set of averages out of the five done). The terminus of the BLUE lines represents the average of the price groups summed and provide the outside limits of the PRICE target for this projection. The ends of the black lines represents the average of the time groups summed and provides the outside limits of the TIME target for this projection.
And just to view another look at a little different summation we did the same for another five (5) group sum but this time we specified the groups to be 5.23 which means the second and third 20% averages of the group of 5 averages. Things are tighter this way and shifted to a less aggressive view.
